Brittany Heritage Services was founded in January 2009 to provide a range of services for improving information about Brittany for Anglophones. As a professional guide I lead walks, tours and visits to towns and sites of historical interest all over Brittany. Groups contact me through tourist offices or the Brittany Walks website. In 2010 I began to escort North American and English groups from cruise-ships docking at Brest and Lorient. As a teacher I provide Study Days for British residents of Brittany to learn about a range of topics from Megaliths and Breton Saints to Medieval history and issues in modern Brittany. I also run a course for French tourist guides ‘Comment presenter le patrimoine breton à un public Anglophone’. NEXT COURSE: LEGENDS OF BRITTANY – Wednesday, November 16th 2011 Brittany is renowned for legends of many kinds. Celtic connections, saints and sinners, miracles and magic, King Arthur and the Breton Bluebeard are all part of a richly varied oral tradition. This study day looks at different types of stories, how they have survived to the present day and what they have to tell us about Brittany’s landscape and heritage. VENUE: near Huelgoat COST: 20 euros (18€ if booked and paid for by November 2nd). To book: phone 02 98 81 49 85 or email wendymewes@orange.fr
